Cottage in Bamburgh

Autumn 2018

It is remarkable how fast time seems to fly. We are coming to the end of our second season and it seems no time at all since we were at the beginning of this journey.

Sue and I made a pact when we first started out that we would remain 'hands on' with regard to all cleaning and maintenance requirements and to date we have only been unable to be present at one handover. We are quite together when we say we are intent on meeting each and every one of our guests either on arrival or at some stage of their holiday. I think that sets us apart from many holiday property owners. We have made many good friends in the process and already have repeaters who are intent on coming back to us.

This summer has been exceptional weatherwise and our guests have had absolutely glorious holidays. It gives Sue and me a great deal of pleasure when we see our guests discovering Northumberland for the first time. Many of our guests come back to the area time and time again as you can see from our testimonials. Often arriving from other wonderful tourist areas of the UK such as the Lakes or the Broads, Northumberland offers areas of outstanding natural beauty with little or no interference from tourism in general. You will always be able to find a bay or hill to yourself. I think that is what sets it apart from other tourist areas of the UK. We are quite remote but the effort to reach us is worthwhile.

Sue and I never fail to wonder at how lucky we are to live in such a special corner of our planet.
